Valentino Rossi arriva ad Austin dopo lo splendido podio del Qatar, dove il nove volte campione del mondo della Yamaha era stato autore di una strepitosa rimonta. Il rider pesarese sa anche che il Circuit Of The Americas non sarà una gara facile per la Yamaha, infatti nei test la Honda si era saputa adattare meglio. Il circuito però gli piace e quindi spera di portare a casa più punti possibile. A lui la parola.
“Austin non sarà una gara facile, ma di sicuro il podio in Qatar ci sta dando una motivazione in più. Abbiamo fatto un grande lavoro lì e possiamo andare ad Austin con un po’ più di certezza. I nostri concorrenti saranno molto forti, ma il nostro obiettivo sarà quello di portare a casa punti. Sono fiducioso, mi piace molto la pista e la mia prima impressione, quando abbiamo provato lì, era che il circuito è bello. Il lay-out della pista è molto particolare: ci sono saliscendi e la prima zona di frenata è molto tecnica. Per me la curva due è la migliore e poi il “pezzo” quando si entra nella chicane. Il rettilineo è molto lungo e si può sorpassare. Non vedo l’ora di correre al COTA.”

“Austin will not be an easy race but for sure the podium in Qatar is giving us extra motivation. We have done a great job there and we can go to Austin with some more certainty. Our competitors will be very strong but our goal will be to bring home points. I am confident, I really like the track and my first impression, when we tested there, was that the circuit is beautiful. The track lay-out is very special: there is some downhill and uphill and the first braking zone is very technical. For me turn two is the best though and after when you enter into the chicane. The straight is very long, which is good for overtaking. I really look forward to racing at COTA.”
