Intervista a Lin Jarvis “ Valentino Rossi può vincere ancora” / Lin Jarvis "hoping for more wins from Valentino Rossi"

Valentino Rossi è tornato alla vittoria nella classe MotoGP ad Assen (80° successo nella Top Class), cosa che non gli accadeva dalla Malesia 2010. Il centauro pesarese dopo i due “terribili” anni vissuti in Ducati è “rinato” quando è tornato in Yamaha e subito nella gara d’esordio in Qatar è salito sul podio. E’ seguito poi un periodo difficile, dove il nove volte campione del mondo non è più riuscito ad essere vero protagonista, almeno fino agli ormai famosi test di Aragon.

Nei Test seguiti a quelli post-gp di Barcellona, il #46 ha ritrovato quel feeling con l’anteriore a lui necessario per tornare a lottare per il successo. Ad Assen è stato sempre protagonista e ora si dovrà confermare già dal prossimo appuntamento in programma domenica 14 luglio al Sachsenring. Ecco cone ne pensa Lin Jarvis, Boss Yamaha così come riportato da MCN.
“E’ fantastico vedere Valentino tornare sul gradino più alto del podio. Sapevamo che c’era questa possibilità dopo gli ottimi test di Aragon. Ha ritrovato il giusto feeling con l’anteriore e per me non è stata una sorpresa vederlo vincere. Sono stato molto contento che sia accaduto di nuovo.
Conosciamo il potenziale di Valentino e può lottare per il campionato. Ci sono molti giovani piloti veloci (si riferisce a Lorenzo, Pedrosa e Marquez) e il livello è molto alto, così non è facile quando si hanno 34 anni, ma sul fatto che possa vincere le gare, che sia un grande pilota, che sia un grande ambasciatore e animatore di questo sport, non c’è mai stato nessun dubbio.
Nelle ultime gare non aveva il giusto feeling con la moto, ma quello che avevamo visto in Qatar era ciò che pensavamo, che tornasse per lottare. Penso che ora con questa vittoria possa credere ancora di più in se stesso e potrebbero arrivare altri successi.”


Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis is now hoping that Rossi will be a victory challenger for the remainder of the season having never doubted he would be able to return to the top step of the podium after a miserable two-year stint at Ducati.
Jarvis told MCN: “It is fabulous to see Valentino back on top of the podium and we knew there was a chance he was going to get better results again because of the very positive test in Aragon.
"He found the feeling again with the front of the bike and it wasn’t a surprise for me honestly to see him win the race and I had my money on him. But I was very pleased to see it happen.
"What we don’t know about Valentino is his potential to win the championship again. These young guys are so fast and the level is so high and it is not easy when you are 34. But the fact that he can win races, be a great team rider, great ambassador and animate the sport, we always believed in that.
"We got a little bit concerned in the last races because he didn’t have a good feeling with the bike. What we saw in Qatar was vintage Valentino, coming back and fighting.
"We saw what he could do in the first race but we lost it a bit but he has found it again and I think we will now see him rejuvenated and believing in himself again and we could see more victories.”
